Variety name: Bloomquist Tory P

Hybridizer: Paul Bloomquist (introduced in 2015, a renowned Northwest Washington breeder with over 100 registered varieties)

Form: Formal decorative (small ball or BB-FD classification)

Color: Soft blush pink to lavender-pink, often described as creamy white or marshmallow base with a lavender-blush or amethyst center; can appear smokier lavender in cooler weather or shift slightly based on conditions (highly prized for its delicate, porcelain-like gradient)

Size of Bloom: 4–6 inches (typically around 4 inches)

Height: 4–5 feet (commonly 4.5 feet)

Cut Flower: Excellent — a florist and designer favorite with strong, straight stems, long vase life, and abundant production; ideal for weddings and bouquets

Tuber producer: Good but noted for producing thinner (“pencil-thin”) tubers that may store softer than some varieties

Growers Notes: This is a highly sought-after, prolific variety that’s early-blooming and consistently productive on sturdy plants. It’s challenging to acquire due to high demand (often limited to 1 per customer). Performs well in full sun, spaced 12–18 inches apart, and pinched at 12 inches tall for bushier growth. Harvest when 3/4 open for best form. A standout in the Bloomquist Legacy collection, loved for its perfect form and ethereal color.
